There are great alpine paths to be hiked on from Finkenberg without even breaking a sweat. Various routes for families, hiking aficionados and experienced hikers start at Penkenjoch mountain station. Amongst others, the Garnet Chapel can be reached on an easy path from Garnet Chapel offering a place of tranquillity and contemplativeness.
Garnet Chapel – Capella Granata
Capella Granata built in 2013 on Penkenjoch is a place of contemplation and peace. The rhomboid-dodecahedron shaped chapel built by star architect Mario Botta reflects the shape of garnet, which is native to Zillertal. The chapel is open 24/7 in summer and can be reached on an easy path from the mountain station of the Finkenberger Almbahnen.

There’s no limit for swimming fun in the village of Finkenberg in summer! Everyone gets their money’s worth at the adventure pool with

Hiking tip Glocke
Find a pristine oasis of nature in the heart of Finkenberg – the Glocke. This 33-hectare conservation area can be experienced during a hike on the nature trail. The route along the Glocke offers variety particularly on hot summer days. Exciting for children: display boards provide information about forests as a habitat, and there are plenty of options for cooling off. The TUX-Welten offers exciting information and keeps you on your toes with tricky puzzles.
Naturwelt
Located slightly higher the Naturwelt (Nature World) is waiting for explorers of all ages. The adventure begins at the mid-station of Finkenberger Almbahnen. The formation of the region around Finkenberg, which animals are living here and a lot of more is explained in a playful manner. What about a bog soil experiment? Let’s go with glacier flea Luis and the explorer pass is available at the tourism office of the Tux-Finkenberg tourist association!
