Stop for a bite to eat
A real treat are the simple, regional delicacies such as Kaiserschmarren, Knödel and Topfenstrudel - made from local products. These taste especially good at the alpine pastures and mountain huts. Hiking from the mountain railway
Even mountain enthusiasts want to take a leisurely hike. Here in Tux-Finkenberg this is easily possible, because in addition to easier hikes in the valley, there are also summit trails that are accessible to all: with the summer mountain railroads everyone makes it up high! The summer cable cars in Tux-Finkenberg - 3 of 11 in the Zillertal - allow comfortable hiking for young and old, young and old. The Hintertux Glacier is open 365 days a year. In the entire area of the Hintertux Glacier, fantastic mountain and hiking tours open up. Whether from Hintertux, the Sommerbergalm or from the Tuxer Fernerhaus, every hiker and mountaineer will find their own individual challenge here. Kids can let off steam with Luis' Gletscherflohsafari and Luis' Kugelsafari on the hiking area of the Sommerbergalm.

Eggalm hiking rally for kids: Pick up the rally card at the Eggalm cable car valley station, go exploring on the mountain and collect stamps. At the end, hand in the correctly completed card at the valley station and get a great gift! With the Eggalmbahn mountain station as the starting point, however, many more great hiking trails in various levels of difficulty await.

Your starting point for your hiking vacation: Here, from Finkenberg, great alpine trails can be hiked and without breaking a sweat. From the mountain station at Penkenjoch there are the most diverse routes for families, hiking enthusiasts and experienced hikers.
The Garnet Chapel - Capella Granata
A place of contemplation and silence. The chapel, built by star architect Mario Botta in the shape of a rhombic dodecahedron, reflects the shape of the garnet native to the Zillertal. The chapel is open throughout the summer and can be reached easily from the mountain station of the Finkenberger Almbahnen.

Hiking taxi
From June to the end of September you can also get to selected alpine pastures and huts faster with the hiking cabs. The cab operators will take you to the Stoankasern snack station, to the Hobalm or Vallruckalm and to the Lämmerbichlalm. These are the ideal starting point for beautiful hikes!
Departure point: for guests from outside Tux at the Tux-Center in Tux-Lanersbach, guests from Tux will be picked up at the accommodation; Monday to Friday at 9.15 a.m.

TUX-Welten for the entire family
Hiking for all ages never becomes boring on these themed trails. The TUX-Welten are completely new. Discover Tuxertal and its diversity with the entire family. Hike through Wasserwelt (Water World) and let water splash in your face on hot days at the Hintertux waterfall. You can also cool off in Tier-, Pflanzen-, and Naturwelt or one of the other worlds at Tuxbach. Informative display boards alternate with attractions such as the flea circus of the waterfall swing. All paths are easily accessible from Tux-Finkenberg!
Tip: the glacier world with the glacier bug safari on the Hintertux Glacier - an exciting adventure course with tricky puzzle questions awaits you around the Sommerberg hiking area.
Guided glacier tour
From July to September, an experienced glacier guide takes you on an exciting and adventurous discovery tour on Hintertux Glacier. Did you know that the glacier ice you’re hiking on is several millennia old?
Highlight of the hike: the panoramic terrace on Hintertux Glacier. Learn more about the surrounding mountains and enjoy the breath-taking view at a spectacular altitude of 3,250 m.
Nature park rangers will also accompany you on your informative tour through Tuxertal. The Tux-Finkenberg tourist association and nature park Zillertal Alps will inform you about the guided hiking tours.

Nature Park Rangers will also accompany you on your educational tour through the Tux Valley. You can register for guided hikes at the Tux-Finkenberg Tourist Office as well as at the Zillertal Alps High Mountain Nature Park.
